Carrier Design

Pinnacle’s capabilities in carrier design range from sheet metal sections
weighing 20 lbs. to full frame vehicles.

Carriers are highly product-specific – and are configured to the design, dimensions
and production routing of the product.  Yet, the goal is always a “common” carrier
design that will accommodate multiple products.  This is becoming increasingly
important as auto plants and others build multiple types of product on one line,
and thus need more generic carrying methods. Pinnacle is at the forefront of this
important specialty within the field of carrier design.

Pinnacle, has, for more than a decade, specialized in innovative, practical carrier
design, and fixture design.
From something as simple as a hook to hold a tire to as
intricate as a complex tree for multiple, diverse parts that’s robotically loaded and unloaded,
Pinnacle has the resources to produce a carrier design that fits your applications.

Of course, carrier design is just the first step.  With higher precision, automatic interfacing
carriers more commonplace, there must be assurances that manufacturing is done in such
a way that tolerance can be maintained over long periods.  So, the design of the carrier
fixture (gauge) is important as well.

Pinnacle has a strong track record in the design of both carriers and fixtures.
We understand the importance of the component, its full support points, configuration
constraints, loads, build rates and positioning tolerances.  Sometimes it is “just a hook
for a tire."  But more often, the program involves materials and weld requirements,
structural analysis to make sure it loads properly, robotic interfacing and numerous
other complexities.  Carrier design, at its best, means carriers that last the life
of the product.

One of the capabilities Pinnacle has for producing exceptional carrier design work
is the ability to manipulate part data, and math data,  so that both can be used in its
original detailed state, as a tool to configure in 3D. Pinnacle is proficient with virtually
any known software for this work, and uses AutoCAD and Solid Edge for carrier
design projects.

If you have a carrier design project that involves a comprehensive new design,
the detailing of existing work, or something in-between, Pinnacle is a resource you
should know.  We’ll work with you on concepts to produce a working prototype,
and use every tool to right-size your carrier to the application.

Like our carrier design, we configure our support to your requirements.
